The Old Mill Shops
My Mother's Stitches
The same hands that so lovingly made my dresses when I was a little girl continues to bring joy into my life with her sewing as well as the many other things she does to enrich the lives of her other children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and large circle of friends.
At age 88, she sometimes rides the train from West Virginia to visit and not only makes special items for the gift shop, she makes the curtains, upholsters the chairs, hangs the pictures, paints everything in sight, repots the plants, cooks wonderful meals, massages the massage therapist and has won the hearts of the neighbors.
You can rest assured that every inch of The Old Mill House has been “bleached” and cleaned with a toothbrush. Guests are delighted to find a variety of lovely fabrics made into unique items such as tote bags, reversible aprons, tablecloth and napkin sets, decorator pillows and basket ruffles.

The Hay Loft . . .Coming Soon
When Betsy and Susan, sisters from Cincinnati, Ohio, return for their 3rd annual visit at The Old Mill House, it won’t be their typical R&R vacation.
After a year of anticipation they will be digging through boxes, discovering treasures for repurposing and most of all—having fun in the barn in the autumn air. They are the “dream guests”. They arrive laden with gifts, gather their trash and linens when they leave, become ingrained in the community by helping neighbors in need and even massage the massage therapist.
